Progress of INDC preparation worldwideThe data presented on this page summarises the progress of INDC development worldwide, indicates the dates at which INDCs are expected to be submitted, and presents a preliminary summary of the various approaches and experiences from the INDC preparation process. The data will be regularly updated. Visit the UNFCCC INDC portal to view details of country submissions. Submitted INDCs: 128By 01 November 2015, 128 submissions representing 156 Parties had been received.
Stages of INDC developmentCountry representatives indicated which stage they are currently at within their INDC development processes. The column chart shows how the preparation status has progressed from previous months.
Date of INDC submissionCountry representatives indicated by when they are planning to submit their INDCs to the UNFCCC. Each column in the first chart represents the accumulative total of the number of responding countries expecting to submit their INDCs by the given date. The orange portion of the columns indicates the new submissions within each respective month. The second chart (viewable only for the 'global' dataset) shows the proportion of GHG emissions covered by submitted INDCs by a given date*. The second chart includes all countries, including those for which no information could yet be obtained.
Process integrationCountry representatives indicated the extent to which they agreed or disagreed that the INDC builds upon the following existing technical elements.
For the following charts, countries were asked to indicate the extent to which they agreed or disagreed with the following statement:
Key challenges and gaps in the preparation of INDCsCountry representatives indicated the extent to which they agreed or disagreed that their INDC processes had been impaired by the following potential challenges.
Opportunities arising from the INDC processCountry representatives were asked to indicate the extent to which they agreed or disagreed that their INDC processes had generated the following opportunities.
The information is aggregated and viewable only at the global and regional level. Use the buttons below to select a region to view data specifically for that region. Note that only responding countries are represented in the data. The number of responding countries per region for each data set is given in the table at the top of the page.
*Data related to GHG emissions relates to 2012 global emissions excluding LULUCF based on a collection of data sources, including the UNFCCC, IEA and EDGAR databases.
